    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AdGrove: pricing, payouts, fraud prevention, and how every impression is guaranteed.

Why is AdGrove cheaper than YouTube or Facebook?

Our pricing reflects the rewarded ad model's efficiency. Because every ad is watched in full, you get true value for every impression. Traditional platforms charge more because they know most ads won't be completed. You're essentially subsidising wasted impressions.

    Do you charge for clicks?

No. Unlike most platforms that charge separately for clicks (CPC) on top of impressions, AdGrove charges only for views. If a viewer clicks your call-to-action, that's included at no extra cost. We believe great ad content shouldn't be penalised for being effective.

Can my campaign budget spiral out of control?

Absolutely not. When you submit a campaign, we authorise your card for a fixed number of impressions, but you are only charged if the campaign is approved. Once live, the campaign runs until that impression target is reached, then stops automatically. There are no open-ended budgets, no daily spend caps to monitor, and no risk of accidentally overspending.

When am I actually charged for a campaign?

When you submit a campaign for review, your card is authorised (a temporary hold) for the campaign total, but no money moves. If our reviewers approve the campaign, we capture the authorised amount and the campaign goes live. If we reject the campaign, the authorisation is released and you are not charged. Authorisations typically last around 7 days; we aim to review every campaign well within that window.

Are there any hidden fees for advertisers?

No. The CPM rates shown are exactly what you pay. There are no platform fees, no setup costs, no click charges, and we absorb all payment processing fees. You only pay for the impressions you book.

    What's the minimum campaign size?

Campaigns require a minimum of 5,000 impressions. At our 30-second rate, that's £35, enough to ensure efficient delivery and meaningful results.

    How do publisher payouts work?

Publishers earn 90% of all ad revenue. When you withdraw earnings, standard Stripe payment processing fees apply (£2/month + £0.10 + 0.25% per transfer). These fees are billed directly by Stripe, not AdGrove. We recommend withdrawing £20+ to minimise the fee percentage.

How do I know the views are real?

We have robust fraud detection including behavioral analysis, IP monitoring, and watch-time validation. Every impression is verified before being counted and billed.

What happens when AdGrove runs out of inventory?

Your ad slot is never left empty, and an unlock is never left unpaid. Three pools sit behind every unlock request and they are tried strictly in order. First, paid advertiser inventory: every approved campaign matching the viewer's market, the placement's category and its duration setting enters a weighted draw. Second, AdGrove System Ads, which are our own creatives and pay publishers exactly the same rate as paid inventory, so a System Ad unlock is worth as much as an advertiser unlock. This is the pool we always prefer when the paid pool is quiet. Third, and only when both pools above are empty for that specific viewer, a Ghost Ad serves: a clearly labelled AdGrove promo at a fixed reduced CPM. Ghost Ads exist for markets with thin advertiser coverage, so in practice they appear on newer Global tier traffic rather than Premium. Whichever pool serves, the viewer experience is identical, the content unlocks the same way, and you are paid.

Fill sourceWhen it servesPublisher payout per 1,000
Paid advertiser campaignA matching campaign has budget left£5.40 to £8.10 (Premium), £2.25 to £3.60 (Global)
AdGrove System AdNo matching paid campaign for that viewerIdentical to paid inventory at the same tier rate
Ghost AdNeither pool has anything for that viewer£0.50, still paid on every unlock

How is the 100% fill rate guaranteed?

Paid campaigns serve first, AdGrove System Ads fill any gap at the normal CPM, and a reduced-rate Ghost Ad covers the rare case where neither pool matches a viewer. The result is an unbroken fill with publishers earning on every unlock. See the inventory answer above for the full breakdown.
